Birthday is not just another day of the year, at least not for the person whose birthday is on that day. Every one wish to have a memorable birthday and as a near one the responsibility of arranging a party comes on you. Planning a birthday or party decorations is not easy at all. Have patience and go through the tips. Birthday themes vary according to age or gender preferences. Depending on the age and length of attention of your guests, outdoor entertainment could be a great success. But younger children (children under four or five) can be frightened or simply annoyed by a performance that lasts more than 45 minutes. Before writing a large check to someone famous, consider looking for local talent.

Location

The venue or location of the birthday party can be at your home but to avoid the considerparks, cafes, restaurants or even a convention hall if the guest list becomes too big. But the location should be near to your home and the place needs to complement the birthday celebration ideas.

Organizing the party

Never try to organize the party all by yourself. Everything will be much easier if you have help – a spouse, a family member, a neighbor, a nanny or friends who can help you in activities as well as service and cleaning. This is especially important if you are going to entertain young guests whose parents are leaving them.

Food

For short parties, cake and ice cream is really the only refreshment you need. Many young children consider the cake as the focal point of the entire birthday ritual, so be sure to allow them to do it (or select it at the bakery). Tradition dictates that the birthday boy or girl gets the first piece of cake and they will probably choose the part with the most icing and decorations on it. Consider having more than one ice flavor in your hand, however, since young children can be difficult and prefer ice cream on the cake. You can also make some traditional food at home and bring them in to the party. Older guests can really enjoy preparing food as much as they eat, so consider replacing the kitchen with an art. A family organized a pizza party by putting personal size pans on the kitchen floor (one for each guest) and letting the children put on salsa, cheese and other toppings. As with all aspects of party planning, try to give family favorites a personal touch by turning chicken wings into dinosaur wings for a pre-tractor party or serving chicken for an orchestra party Be prepared for crises. An adult can eliminate a distracted child while the rest of the group continues to celebrate. Your enthusiasm will turn into good memories, so work on that.
